As a member of FCAWA it is your responsibility to keep accurate records and evidence portfolios of your continuing professional development and supervision, as per your level membership requirement. To record your CPD or to request an external CPD for assessment, please use the following forms:

Accreditation is the process of certifying your competencies to undertake financial counselling.

For FCAWA to approve you as an Accredited member, you must comply with the following requirements:

  • Have 24 months full-time experience working as a financial counsellor
  • Hold the Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling)
  • Meet the requirement for continuing professional development and supervision
  • Agree to abide by the Australian Financial Counselling Code of Ethical Practice
  • Agree to abide by FCAWA’s rules

For financial counsellors who are no longer working in the field, to maintain your Accreditation with FCAWA you must meet the requirements for continuing professional development.
